After your ride-along, request a disclosure package. This package contains all the documents you will need to sign, financial disclosures on the Franchisors, the manuals and the phone numbers of all the Franchisees past and present. Your 14-Day cooling off period begins now.

Due Diligence

Use your 14-Day cooling off period to take the disclosure package to your accountant, business advisor and lawyer for advice, and call as many of our Franchisees as you wish and ask questions concerning their experience as a Jim’s Mowing Franchisee.

You can also use your 14-day cooling off period to begin your classroom and field training. One of the best things about a Jim’s Franchise is that you can take all the training before you buy.

That’s correct, you can take our entire 6-Day training course and learn everything we know about running a landscape maintenance business without purchasing a franchise, for free (you only pay for your flights, meals and accommodation on campus).

Sign your document package and make payment

Now that you know everything we do, you’ve spoken to all our Franchisees and they’ve confirmed that this is not “too good to be true”, you’re ready to sign your Franchise agreement and start your 10 days of field training in Vancouver, BC.

Spend 10 days with us learning the tools, how to quote and perform the work profitably, productively and cost effectively. This is also when we will be supplying you with the software and training to run your business like a well-oiled machine. This series of videos is basically a virtual ride-along day with us. You don’t get to get your hands dirty and try all the cool tools, but you do get the answers to most of the questions that we get on a ride along. How much can I make?

Jim’s Mowing Franchisees in Canada earn between $150,000 and $2 million per year in gross revenue, and we have more than enough potential business for double the Franchisees we have now. In 2023 we turned away over 2,500 of 10,000 new customers because we didn’t have enough Franchisees to service demand. New Franchisees can take as much work as they want, wherever they want, whenever they want. As long as our customers are well serviced, you can build the business of your dreams.

How much flexibility will I have?

The initial franchise cost is $35,000 until September, 30, 2024. Online Training with our Jim’s Mowing Head Office in Australia is $780 and is part of your due diligence process. You can use any truck regardless of age as long there’s no dents or rust, and our custom-built aluminum Jim’s Mowing trailer is $16,995 with our standard equipment package approximately $7,200.00. Both the trailer and equipment can be leased from our leasing partners from day one without submitting 2 years of financials. Our partners know our franchisees are usually successful early in the process.

How much are the monthly franchise fees?

$785.00 a month franchise fee (Fixed for 20 years plus CPI – Never a percentage of revenue) – Net of $90 compliance discount.

$163.00 advertising fund. All our franchisees pay into this fund every month so we can advertise the brand collectively and bring in new business. In 2023 we brought in over 10,000 new customers in BC (and we had to turn away 2,500 of them because we didn’t have enough franchisees to meet demand).

$16 per lead. When you need new/more customers, we will send you new leads for $16 each. The first 50 leads for all new franchisees are free.

What percentage franchise fee do you charge?

The short answer? We don’t. Jim’s Mowing is one of the only franchise systems in the world where we do not charge a percentage-based franchise fee. With Jim’s Mowing you can build your business as large as you like, with multiple vehicles and trailers, while always paying our flat monthly franchise fee ($785) no matter how big your business gets. You get the opportunity to build the business of your dreams, big or small, and your franchisor is always supporting your choice. With Jim’s Mowing there is no franchisor always pushing you to work more because they make a percentage of your revenue. You build the business of your dreams and we support you, because whatever the scale of your business, it’s fine with us.
